Past and current projects

A whimsical retreat....

This project began as a layered, overgrown space — a collection of past ideas and tired features, from mismatched patios to fragmented zones.

The brief was clear: start fresh. Create something tranquil, imaginative, and easy to maintain. A space that would allow the clients to step outside and detach from the world.

With a modest budget of £8,000–£11,000, we focused on reimagining the garden as a refined retreat — inspired by the charm of fairy gardens, but tailored for adult serenity. A sanctuary where whimsy meets practicality. We cleared the site completely, stripping it back to a true blank canvas. From there, the layout was designed to be purposeful yet flexible — a base that could evolve with the client’s vision over time through seasonal planting and personal touches. Despite the constraints, we delivered a strong framework:
A newly installed area for entertaining or relaxing
A clear side path for access and flow
A bespoke gate for privacy and cohesion. A new level lawn.  Archways to add separation.
This project demonstrates what can be achieved when thoughtful design meets purposeful restraint. For clients who want to make the most of their space without overextending, it’s proof that you don’t need a large-scale budget to create a meaningful lifestyle upgrade.

Contemporary Cottage Garden

Project Feature: A Contemporary Cottage Garden for Modern Family Living Cheshire
| Budget: £15,000–£20,000

Set within a luxury new-build in Cheshire, this garden was designed to become more than just an outdoor space — it was to be the family’s most cherished room. A place to unwind, entertain, and, as the client poetically described it, “the only room with a view of the stars.” The original brief called for a contemporary cottage garden — blending soft traditional elements with the clean, structured finishes expected of a new-build home. As with many projects of this scale, the design evolved in real time, responding to the client’s needs as their vision deepened during the installation.

Key Features & Scope Adjustments:
New patio area for entertaining and dining
Decked platform to accommodate a new hot tub
Defined bin storage zone for practicality without compromising beauty
New raised flowerbed and a play bark area to balance elegance with family use.
Cobbled edging around the lawn and extended front driveway for cohesion
Side path and front drive extension to complete the experience from every entry point.

The Approach Rather than holding rigidly to a static blueprint, we approached the project as a living design — a foundation from which the client could refine and build upon. Flexibility became key. As priorities shifted, we adjusted the layout and structure, all while managing budget and timeline expectations with transparency. This collaborative approach allowed us to unlock more from the space — both functionally and emotionally — without compromising the overall aesthetic.
Where Past Meets Present Contemporary cottage gardens walk a fine line between romantic charm and modern restraint. In this garden, we leaned into traditional cottage planting while giving it a clean, current structure. The beds were planted with a curated mix of perennials, with Lupins chosen as the focal point — adding bursts of colour, height, and interest throughout the seasons.
The finished garden is timeless yet fresh — a space that reflects the warmth of family life and the elegance of modern design. A true retreat, tailored to both the here and now and the future growth of the space.

Modern contemporary garden

Awaiting its new owners is a modern garden with hints of Mediterranean  structure.   A luxury new build nestled in Cheshire.  With artificial lawn installed for  low maintenance.  Tall column photinia's create the main focal point from the house.  With low lighting for those evening nights, this garden is the perfect place to spend the summer.

Clean lines with a sense of minimalism.  The concept here was to create an attractive starting point.  A canvas of which to build and include more personality.

Modern Garden

A smaller project with a design based on contemporary lines and initially zen inspired.  This garden perfectly matched the style and feel of the home, creating a seamless flow from home to garden.

Initially the design incorporated more inspirations from Zen gardens.  The budget had to be aligned and several elements were removed.  The result was an excellent foundation of which the client could add their own style to the garden.

Originally planned to have sections created using screening with cherry blossoms and acers to bring some zen vibes.

The clients were thrilled with their new garden and we hope they have added some touches of their own.
